Not a full year has passed since last year’s Bike to Work campaign, and without much thought about whether we will take part in the event, we started meeting our colleagues equipped with bicycle helmets (and in the case of Šafo and Marek also with running shoes).
This year, 6 colleagues joined the challenge, so there were two fewer of us compared to last year’s September challenge. The division into two three-member teams meant that it was necessary to step it up ?. This can also be seen in the numbers – compared to the September performance, warmer, but especially less rainy days were more in favour of racked up kilometers.
On the corona wave?
The number of cyclists on cycle paths and roads has visibly increased in the last year, with many heading to work. The relaxation of measures and the opening of districts after the winter returned the bustle of the city under the windows of our offices. Once again, my colleagues and I were getting used to the roads full of cars trying to unsuccessfully clear the road ahead using their horns. But we were coming to work full of energy, kick-started by movement and with a huge smile, as there was no car that would be out of the traffic jam faster than us.

Total
For Bart.sk, we rode and ran 1,719.08 km to work in June, thus saving 432.12 kg of CO2. However, the month of June ended and with it the campaign Bike to Work as well. Nevertheless, we will continue, as long as the weather allows us, whether on a bike ?? or on foot?
