Microsite – A Small Website With Great Added Value

Sometimes less is more. Especially in the case of content that a website visitor has to scroll through in order to reach the key information for them. That’s why microsites exist. When is it worth using them?

Microsites (often called minisites) are small, self-contained websites that focus on a specific product, service or campaign. One of the advantages of using them is that they provide precise targeted information for a specific audience. They also allow you to take advantage of a unique and memorable design that differs from the main page of your company. This allows you to better emphasize the importance of a particular campaign or product. In addition, since they represent new, unique content for inclusion in searching, they can increase the SEO score of your brand’s main website if used correctly with keywords and links.

What is worth communicating on a microsite?

The most common reason for creating a microsite is the introduction of a brand’s new product/collection. For example, if your company has launched a sale of a new product for athletes, you can create a microsite focused only on this product and publish information on it that would be useful just for sports lovers. This way, you can better target your marketing efforts and increase the likelihood that your audience will become your customers. It’s similarly advantageous to use microsites in the case of promotion of a competition or an event.

Recently, we’ve created a microsite because of an event, too. However, it wasn’t a website with a program of events and speakers. Our customer was going to participate in an international conference where they wanted to present several of their exceptional products in English. However, their home e-shop is in Polish and also contains a lot of goods. The content that the customer wanted to communicate would easily get lost in it. That’s why we created a microsite with basic information about the products, where every participant of the conference can immediately learn everything they need to know. It only took us a few days to create this page, including the graphics. It was therefore a very quick and effective solution to the client’s problem, which can ultimately bring them new customers and partners.

A quick summary at the end
